Pacific Alliance

What is it?

The Pacific Alliance is an economic and trade integration mechanism based on four pillars: the free movement of goods, services, capital, and people, along with a cross-cutting axis of cooperation. It is an innovative and flexible integration strategy with clear, pragmatic goals consistent with Colombia’s development model and foreign policy. This mechanism does not seek to counterbalance other regional initiatives. 

Who is the target audience?

To build, in a participatory and consensual manner, an area of ​​deep integration to progressively advance towards the free movement of goods, services, capital and people; 

To promote greater growth, development and competitiveness of the Parties’ economies, with a view to achieving greater well-being, overcoming socio-economic inequality and the social inclusion of their inhabitants; and to become a platform for political articulation, economic and commercial integration, and projection to the world, with special emphasis on Asia Pacific. 

Who are the members?

Member Countries (4): Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru. 

How does it work?

In the Pacific Alliance there are different decision-making bodies, whose decisions are always made by consensus.

The Joinn Network acts as an integrator and expands technology transfer capabilities between Chile, Peru, Mexico, and Colombia.
