Musical interpretation and physical condition monitoring system for rehabilitation tasks in the trunk and upper limbs

Music interpretation and fitness monitoring system
Invention Patent No. NC2016/0005253, Colombia (Granted)

A system for musical interpretation and monitoring of physical and emotional condition through continuous measurement of cardiac and muscular activity, limb angles, and the patient’s emotional state. The system integrates a new, specialized musical instrument for trunk and upper limb rehabilitation exercises, a subsystem for monitoring physiological and biomechanical variables, a subsystem for indicating the progress of rehabilitation therapy, and a subsystem for recording, visualizing, and updating rehabilitation practices. The device allows for ergonomic adjustment and physical and functional adaptation according to the patient’s progress.

Medicine, medical device, rehabilitation, music therapy.
A device that integrates a musical interpretation system with the monitoring of physiological and biomechanical variables, which allows for the implementation of therapies based on medical protocols in a flexible and binding manner, providing adaptability to the patient’s evolution and ergonomic adjustment.
  • It receives and processes data from the monitoring of physiological and biomechanical variables.
  • It allows therapies implemented on medical protocols in a flexible and binding manner.
  • It has a remotely located system for recording, viewing, and updating rehabilitation practices.
  • It provides a clear source of quantitative information that allows for a good interpretation of the patient’s condition.
