Process for obtaining flexible degradable films.

Process for obtaining flexible degradable films
Invention patents No. 11124719 Colombia (granted), and BR 11-2014-0060081, Brazil.

Method for obtaining biodegradable flexible films obtained from mixtures of cassava starch, plasticizer, polylactic acid (PLA) and polycaprolactone; which can be used as packaging in the agricultural and food industry.

Sustainable development, Environment
Packaging in the agricultural and food industry.
Degradable films, natural polymer, does not threaten food safety and has a shorter degradation time.
  • It does not affect food safety, since the cassava used is not food grade.
  • It has an adequate permeability coefficient, which prevents the proliferation of fungi in the packaged fruit.
  • It is one of the materials with the shortest degradation time in the field (90 days).
  • The material is versatile, it can be used for the production of different flexible plastic elements because the process develops pellets.
