Conference "Intellectual Property: A Look at the Protection of Knowledge". April 2022.

Within the framework of the “Creating It Is Not Enough” call by Minciencias, the conference “Intellectual Property: A Look at the Protection of Knowledge” was held last Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the National University of Colombia, Palmira Campus, a Reddi event to review generalities about Intellectual Property.

Learn more about the event in this article.

Creating it is not enough is an initiative of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in partnership with the Tecnnova UEE Corporation, representing JOINN – the Colombian Network of Technology Transfer Offices (OTRI), which supports the filing of national patent applications with the Colombian  Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) through National Patent Protection. Additionally, and in order to continue providing patent protection as needed, this call for proposals also supports certain inventions in filing international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

At Reddi, we support this initiative through awareness events on intellectual property issues. On this occasion, together with the National University of Colombia,   we developed this conference aimed at students, teachers, researchers, and people interested in learning more about topics such as:

  • National Overview of Intellectual Property – IP.
  • What is Intellectual Property?
  • Forms of protection and requirements.
  • Patents at the national and international level.
  • Trademark registration,
  • National calls for proposals on patent issues

The conference was given by Camilo Ernesto Torres Trujillo, Commercial Manager of Reddi, and Lucia Segura, Consultant at Reddi. Laura V. Camacho, representative of Minciencias, also participated, welcoming the attendees and reminding them of the importance of protecting intellectual property and the various calls for proposals that Minciencias has opened for this purpose.

In this way, Reddi, its members and allies continue to drive the region’s growth through knowledge.
