The mobile cooling system is equipment that allows for the rapid cooling of milk after milking, lowering the temperature from 35 to 4 °C. The system consists of three subassemblies:
a. A conventional 1 HP condensing unit that operates on 110 volts. This unit is housed in a cube-shaped stainless steel angle frame with stainless steel sheeting. The frame has four casters for easy movement.
b. A heat exchanger, which is a bundle of sanitary-grade stainless steel tubes (1/2 and 1 inch in diameter) packed inside a stainless steel tube. The liquid to be cooled flows inside the tubes, and the refrigerant flows outside. At each end of the exchanger, there are two reducers for distributing the liquid to be cooled and a 1-inch ferrule that can be adapted to the cold milk storage tank or milk canister and to the milk storage tank to be cooled.
c. Storage tank (optional) A conical tank is adapted to maintain the frequent
flow of the liquid to be cooled.
