Mobile cooling equipment for milk and other fluids

Mobile milk cooling unit with inclined heat exchanger.
Utility model patent NC2017/0005922, Colombia (Granted).

The mobile cooling system is equipment that allows for the rapid cooling of milk after milking, lowering the temperature from 35 to 4 °C. The system consists of three subassemblies:

a. A conventional 1 HP condensing unit that operates on 110 volts. This unit is housed in a cube-shaped stainless steel angle frame with stainless steel sheeting. The frame has four casters for easy movement.

b. A heat exchanger, which is a bundle of sanitary-grade stainless steel tubes (1/2 and 1 inch in diameter) packed inside a stainless steel tube. The liquid to be cooled flows inside the tubes, and the refrigerant flows outside. At each end of the exchanger, there are two reducers for distributing the liquid to be cooled and a 1-inch ferrule that can be adapted to the cold milk storage tank or milk canister and to the milk storage tank to be cooled.

c. Storage tank (optional) A conical tank is adapted to maintain the frequent
flow of the liquid to be cooled.

Agricultural: dairy farming, agro-industrial or dairy industry, rapid cooling of industrial liquid products.
Detachable, easy to clean and disinfect, mobile, adaptable to different types of energy, high cooling speed, low cost, operates by gravity action, allows adjustment of the speed and temperature of the fluid outlet.
  • It helps maintain the hygienic quality of the milk
  • It helps control the proliferation of microorganisms present in milk such as: salmonella, escherichia, enterobacter, klebsiella, among others.
  • It lowers the temperature of the milk from 37°C to 4°C in 10 seconds.
  • It cools 200 liters of milk in one hour and can be adjusted to 400 liters.
  • It can be adapted to other electrical power systems, such as solar panels.
  • It can be implemented as a storage system.
